YouTube’s homepage updated!

Sorry for publishing this news so late, actually I was a bit busy in my personal work so didn’t get time for updating blogs. YouTube the most popular video sharing site, which was acquired by Google in the later half of the 2006 was down today with some errors. First it was showing Http/1.1 Service Unavailable, then was giving 502 server error and in last it was giving 503 error. (For those who don’t know the meaning of these HTTP status code, please look down upon)

Status’ Meaning

500: A generic error message, given when no more specific message is suitable.

502: The server was acting as a gateway or proxy and received an invalid response from the upstream server.

503: The server is currently unavailable (because it is overloaded or down for maintenance).

After seeing these errors, we thought Google may be doing some big update with YouTube, but it wasn’t true. YouTube has been updated, but only a few things has been changed. They have just added a large advertisement slot above the “Videos being watched now” section with an option to hide and show the advertisements and removed the “Try Google Chrome” ad from their sidebar. Nothing else!

Hope YouTube will soon get some major updates (not like this!). If you notice any other new update in YouTube please do let us know. :)

[Update: Now downloading videos from YouTube have become illegal and most of the downloads tools are not working. Info.]
