A hotel is generally our only option for these kinds of events. There are standards that we need to meet, and we need to be in an appropriate location. If you want to make your next coportate audio visual presentation, this is the article for you. You will need some specialist technical help, and have extra technology beyond what hotels can supply. If you can manage to execute some of these ideas, you will certainly create a presentation that your guests will remember. Technology and creative ideas supported with know-how, will mean your event has a lot more impact. Many of your guests will have been to many corporate events. Here is a look at some technology that is widely available and not always applied in the corporate presentation and event scenario.

Interactivity. Any form of corporate presentation, or fundraiser, or event, must have interactivity. If you have not thought about how you will incorporate Twitter’s tools into your presentation and activities, start doing that now. With this technology you will find everyone gets involved a whole lot more. Interactivity does not have to be limited to the room you are occupying. You can have guest speakers in other locations, or you could even have a single corporate event that is held simultaneously in several locations.

3D. Do you want the visuals of your presentation on the big screen to have a huge amount of impact? 3D is your answer. This will require specialist in visual hardware and software to create that 3D playback image. Your guests will need new 3D glasses.

Sonic Sound. Sonic sound systems have been in clubs around the world for a number of years. These systems are more than just sound. They use systems of air under pressure through piping. Air movements are made to coincide with sounds. Normally, the system will be installed across the floor and all sides of the room. This will mean air movements in the room space will allow your clients to feel the sounds. This system is actually quite subtle and adds depth of emotion to the audio of your presentations.

Sonic Lighting. Again, sonic lighting, lighting that changes with sound changes has been used in nightclubs for a long time. Light and changing light can have some amazing effects on the way we feel. Even subtle changes in lighting that matches the sounds we hear, will change our emotions in relation to what we are being told. This is another technology that can be applied to improve the emotional impact of your presentation.

Electronic Invitations. Have you thought about a short video or flash invitation that will captivate your potential clients? In a world where we are all online, and where many business people are using smartphones, the standard invitation is becoming just that, very standard.

Take your next corporate event and presentation to the next level by utilizing technology. Create emotion and passion. The best hotels will be more than happy to accommodate you with your progressive ideas.

High-tech Ideas to Boost Your Next Hotel Based Corporate Event is a post from: Extreme Trix

Manage Your Internet Usage – Are You Being Overcharged?

Internet

Tips

Unfortunately in India and Australia we are stuck with extremely high cost internet, and still relatively slow speeds. In many countries around the world, internet usage is not charged on the amount of data, and you pay a set fee for the whole month. Australia’s internet providers have chosen to charge us for the amount of data we use, which is basically ridiculous, and is extremely expensive. At around $0.05 a megabyte, it can cost a fortune to even download one DVD movie. This is the way it is, and again, there is nothing we can do about it. But how do we know if we are being charged the right amount? Before you go calling for computer support, or the Consumer Affairs Commission, because of your ridiculously high internet usage, take the following measures. Ways at monitoring and avoiding overcharging, and avoid using too much internet bandwidth in your home.

Know What You Are Using.

The reality is you can be overcharged at any time. I have had this case several times and it has turned into a lengthy battle with an internet provider. How can you really know what you are using if you only trust your internet provider’s usage meter? The fact is you cannot. What you can do is install a program that monitors your exact use. A good example of this is Net Limiter. There are a variety of programs available that can monitor exactly how much your computer is uploading and downloading. You can compare this with the usage meter of your ISP (Internet Service Provider). Don’t be surprised if you find out that you have been overcharged a lot! Some programs such as this one will also enable you to control the amount of data that is transferred so you don’t get runaway downloads without your knowledge.

Be Careful With Some Websites.

Some websites will use more of your bandwidth than others. Some websites actually force your computer to keep downloading more and more information, for different adverts for example. Be wary of websites that have a lot of changing adverts and a lot going on. If you leave one of these webpages open for an hour or so, you might find that you have blown your internet allowance for the month.

Plans.

Obviously we need to shop around. Monitoring the amount we use in an average month and then selecting the plan that gives us the most value for money is the best. ‘Shaped’ plans, are plans that slow down your connection speed once you have reached your allocated monthly usage, and you will not be charged an excess fee. This may be a good option if you have children who are constantly playing games online. They will not like the slower speed and will have to learn how to manage their usage and not exceed the limit for the month.

Automatic Updates.

Turning off your Automatic Updates is suggested, or at least setting them for when your internet plan is on the off-peak times. Updates that are happening in the background can burn up your internet usage without you knowing. I chose to turn the updates off, and do them manually when I know it is a good time (off-peak), and I know that I wont be using my computer to get work done. Your computer will also slow down during this process.

Virus & Malware.

Malware that downloads into your computer may be using your internet connection again without you knowing. A good internet usage program will pick this up. You can go one step better with good protection and removal. You don’t want the malware in your computer anyway, so make sure you keep your virus and malware definitions up-to-date, and keep your computer clean. This will also lessen your need for computer repairs.

Finding that you have gone way over your internet usage and used up another $200 of charges can kill your monthly budget. This is why you should take the measures outlined here. If you are overcharged, you will also have some evidence to back it up.

Manage Your Internet Usage – Are You Being Overcharged? is a post from: Extreme Trix

Building a Better Website with Great Content.

Blogging

SEO

Tips

Websites are successful today not merely with good layout and design, fonts and pictures, but essentially because of good content that is original, informative, interesting, easy to understand & absorb. Its important to have a good layout, navigation and categorization but the ultimate success of a site is down to the quality of the content it produces

While building a website, a substantial percentage of the budget must be allocated to content. It helps to persuade and convince and it is the power of words that gets visitors to websites, since the casual surfer will visit only if he is impressed with what he reads and it’s the lasting effect of what he reads will make him return to your site in the future.

However, everyone does not have the gift of being articulate and being able to express in words what has to be said, with eloquence and style that will impress, compel and hence prove effective. The solution then lies in outsourcing content writing. There are thousands of freelance writers taking up writing assignments but it is important to be able to gauge who is good enough for you. An outsider as a writer is unbiased and therefore can provide a balanced perspective. Besides, it will prove to be a great time saver for you if you know quality content is being produced that you are happy to put your name to.

The flip side of outsourcing great website content to professional writers is the expense involved since all good things do not come cheap. Besides the writer selected will not have the same insights into the business as you, will take time to absorb the information he needs to be able to articulate it into words that make perfect sense. His style of writing may clash with your personality, and this will go against the adage that the website and its design must be an extension of your personality.

The only way out then is to try and attempt writing good copy yourself. Writing is not difficult, it only needs a good command over language and putting thoughts into words on paper, or more appropriately, on the computer screen. Setting out to write great content will then require the following steps to be followed:

Know your targets and objectives- Knowing your target audience and what you are setting out to achieve is crucial since it helps understand what information needs to be assimilated into content. The goals of your content though, may be different from those of the website, which primarily will focus on higher sales or conversions. Content however, has to rise beyond an advertisement and establish a channel of communication with clients, visitors and readers. It needs to reflect your innermost thoughts and beliefs which will make them respect you and your expertise in the field.

Use examples to carry the message- It has been found that eloquent language is often passed up since most people do not like to read it. They would much rather read about real life stories, examples and instances that they can relate to. Therefore, instead of spending time learning to use flowery language, just use examples from your own experience.

Make a list of phrases and lines you use- It is a good idea to write the phrases you use most often and make them part of your content, and if there are statements that do not appeal, make sure they do not form part of your content. Eventually, you will be able to evolve a style of your own, and it will merge well with your website.

Make a plan, use bullet points and divide- Sitting down to write content that will appeal will need planning. It is best to jot down ideas, make bullet points and then divide your content into sections to address all the points. The end result will have a good flow and all avenues covered.

Get feedback from others- Once a copy is ready, and you have done your bit by writing, reviewing and editing it, it is time to take an outsider’s opinion, which is fair and impartial, with a critical analysis as well. This will help to get a taste of public response to your content, and you will be able to make changes before you post it on your website.

Writing great content will take time and there will be times when ideas and words do not flow. At such times, take a break and stop thinking about the content, till your mind is refreshed, and new ideas will automatically flow. The secret of great content writing lies in practice and experience, and the more you write the better you will get to be at writing.

Building a Better Website with Great Content. is a post from: Extreme Trix

How to Write Articles That Get READ?

Blogging

SEO

Tips

Blog

In a constant battle to increase traffic, marketers employ many differ tactics either to increase their ranking or drive traffic through the social media channels but one of the key factors is what the searchers find once they get to your site is what will keep them coming back. If you can produce content that grabs their attentions, gets them to subscribe to your rss feeds or bookmark your pages, then your content has done its job

The question then is how to provide that kind of content?. Content that is explosive and grabs the reader and makes them want more Listed below are a few tips to succeed in writing explosive content.

Know your audience and write for them-

The best articles and posts are written when there is a target audience in mind. Words are formed perfectly with the image of the reader in mind. The content has to be on track and aimed at the specific readers in question, pertaining to their subject, their issues and what they would relate to. Writing on any subject or topic and expecting it to hit the right chord, is incorrect because the reader will just click away. The internet reader’s memory and attention span is short and he will click away the minute he feels it is not up to his expectations and is not adding value. The readers like to read content that answers their queries and can feel that it is exactly suited for their needs.

Catchy titles and headlines-

The biggest eye catcher is the headlines. The title has to be appropriate, the kind that will make the reader wish to stay on the site to read the whole article. If they like the article as much as the headlines, chances are that they may even share it with their friends or social networks. In fact headlines also help in getting picked by search engines. Writing great headlines requires clarity of thought and understanding what exactly readers look for in that field, and the article that follows must stay on track as well. The headline needs to be simple not subtle, clear and not cleverly carved, and it will hit the right chord.

Content must live up to the promise-

If the blog promises a set of five tips, the content must actually have those five tips. Delivering what is promised helps to build a reputation and capture the attention of the readers. The power that comes in the hands the writer can make the content explode as it moves by reference to a larger audience.

Write well enough to reach entire communities of e-readers-

The best content may not reach the success level it deserves if it cannot spread through the right group of people;. Communities have to be built with dedication and then articles shared with them to become popular and passed on. This will require several steps like guest blogging, which entails writing posts for different blogs as a guest. Not only does it increase the writer’s knowledge, improves his style with all the comments, it also popularizes the writer since people reading different blogs associate certain writing styles with the person, and if they like it, they look forward to reading more from the same person. This helps to develop a community of devoted readers, who will read the blogs and pass them on. Similarly, Blog comments help to spread word about what you are writing about especially if you are commenting on a similar topic. Social media networks are a fantastic way to spread the word about your blog, since these have millions of members and many people have hundreds of friends, who they can share information and articles with.

Going viral at the right time-

This helps in enhancing the potential and reach of your blog post especially if it is launched at a specific time of the day. It has been found that blogs that go viral mid week, typically on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening, have better results, perhaps because that is the time the maximum people are logged into social media networks. The results of a post written on a Monday for example, may not be the same.

Ensure that it is easy to share-

Great content, posted in the right place, but it may come to nothing if it cannot be shared simply because the blogger forgot to place a share button on the blog. This needs to be done at the outset by using social media plugins.

Blog formatting-

this is ever so important. A long paragraph without any breaks seems like an endless ramble, which will lose the reader in the first few lines. It is important to place information in short easily understandable paragraphs, with words highlighted and simple vocabulary used.

The end result will be a highly popular e-marketing blog which will spread in fame and explode online.

For more blogging related articles and help, head over to Passionate Bloggers.

How to Write Articles That Get READ? is a post from: Extreme Trix

The Best 5 Tips to Make A Mobile Eco-friendly.

Android

Apple

Guest

iPad

iPhone

Mobile

Motorola

Nokia

Tips

Everyone practically has a mobile phone and has become a necessity that you will find this as an essential tool for all most of the white or blue-collared jobs. Nevertheless, environmentalists who raise their eyebrows against the battery usage are also unable to resist the exploitation of the benefits of a mobile phone. Here are some of the best five tips to make your mobile phone eco-friendly.

Use SIM Only:

This is one of the best tips that you could ever think of a one-time investment on a mobile, which is not tied up and locked into a contract with a single mobile service provider. If you could purchase a mobile that is not locked into a mobile service provider, then you will find yourself buying one of those economical SIM only deals and keep switching the service providers at your own preferences. The advancement in technology has now made it quite simple for any individual to set up a wireless system at their home or office. More and more people are opting for wireless networks rather than the traditional wired networking systems. Although the wireless network system is a really good idea, there is a major concern with the security of this feature. You need to be well aware of home security devices if you plan to use a wireless network system.

There are a lot of different network products that are available on the market. Every manufacturer has an individual set of instructions that you should follow so that you can configure the devices for a protected product setup. To get yourself a secure network you should familiarize yourself with the overall operation of a wireless network. If you are using a wireless network system, you need to do a few things in order to make your system secure. It takes very little of your time but ensures that your system is protected.

Here is a list of things that you should keep in mind:

You should alter the system’s identification. The security devices have a default system ID known as the Service Set Identifier and it is easy for hackers to learn the default identifiers of manufacturers. It is best if you change it to something unfamiliar that will be difficult to identify.

Disable the identifier broadcasting. Check your manual to find out how to disable the broadcasting. This will stop hackers from knowing about your wireless connection and hence you have less chance of getting hacked.

Enable encryption so that only the intended recipient will be able to read the data. There are two types of encryption, the WEP and WPA encryptions. The WPA is a better choice as the WEP encryption is not as powerful. It is harder to break into a WPA encryption and it is now found built into many operating systems and all modems for wireless systems.

Make sure to restrict unnecessary traffic. Lot of wireless routers have built-in firewalls and you can configure the router so that only your approved incoming and outgoing traffic is allowed.

Change the default administrator password. Systems using the default passwords fall easy prey to hackers as they can be easily obtained. Make sure that you keep a password that cannot be easily guessed.

Make sure you take sufficient care to protect your computer. Make sure you have a good anti-virus and a personal firewall installed in your computer. Keep them updated at all times. Try and learn more about Wireless Network Security from various sources and keep yourself updated.

If you implement these few things, you won’t have to worry about Wireless Network Security and your system will be safe from intrusion. Protect your identity, sensitive data, and privacy on the internet while enjoying the convenience of wireless networking.

This is a guest post by Ronen Vikki. No one will deny that risks lurk online, but by acting sensibly, you can still enjoy the rewarding experience of online shopping. Here are 10 tips that will help you be safe and secure while buying online.

Pay attention to how you pay: By utilizing payment tools like PayPal, you can protect yourself from having to give out your credit card information to merchant websites. You can still fund your purchases with your credit card, but fewer digital eyes will be watching.

Avoid paying for online purchases with money orders or cash: You might be able to get a better price for an item on the Web if you pay with a money order, but you have to be prepared to lose your money since you won’t have any means to get your money back should you never receive the products or services you ordered from the merchant.

Shop only on secure websites: While many legitimate companies may operate without a secure site to save money, you should only make financial transactions from sites that have SSL security. Usually you can tell if you’re on a secured site if you see a padlock icon in your browser or if the address in your browser’s address bar begins with “https.” A secured site will encrypt communications between your computer and the merchant site, making it difficult for anyone to intercept your information.

Beware of scam and imitation sites: Scammers will build sites that look like major retailers to trick you into sending in your personal information. Again, look in your address bar and make sure that the address matches the store where you are shopping. If in doubt, either call the store or go somewhere else.

Buy only from online stores that post contact information and policies: Most of the time, reputable credit card processing agents require a merchant to post contact information and sales, shipping, return, and privacy policies on their site. If you don’t see this information, proceed with caution. Some companies don’t want a lot of phone calls and they don’t want customers coming to their office, but keeping their whereabouts secret keeps you in the dark should questions with your order arise.

Watch out for shipping and handling fees: Oftentimes an online retailer will post low prices, but will slam you on shipping and handling fees, making their items more expensive. Protect yourself from this kind of fraud by viewing a merchant’s shipping and handling policy prior to ordering.

Avoid using your debit card for online purchases: Most debit cards are linked to a bank account, so if your information gets in the wrong hands, you could be left penniless while trying to get the issue resolved.

Don’t buy from unsolicited email: Sometimes email will look like it’s coming from a reputable source, but they are actually scams. If a great deal from a store you know shows up in your inbox, be careful before clicking on any of its links.

Buy from stores that are in your country: It’s really nice that people can sell internationally with ease, but buying from a seller outside your country leaves you open to loss. Laws inside your country can serve to protect you from being ripped off, but you have little recourse should you be exploited by an international entity.

Keep records: Print out your order and order confirmation as well as any email correspondence with a seller. You could even print out the product image and description for the things you ordered. This way you have documentation should the item you receive not match the item you ordered.

As more business is done online, more scammers will be out there trying to make a buck. If you proceed with healthy caution, you will find that you can shop safely, securely, and simply by exercising reasonable caution as described above.

[This post was written by Tom Walker, a writer and editor who works with a Manchester, England online ecommerce store offering deals on HP 363 ink and other supplies.
