I’ve been using Android from quite a long time now. It’s been four months I am playing around with it and till now I’ve never got any problem with it and I am seriously loving it. Previously I used to stick to my Bada, but believe me, it was previously . When I was to mash my Samsung Bada and get a new smartphone, the two phones in my mind were iPhone and some Android powered device, I had done little research before buying and found Android is far better; so I got me a Samsung Galaxy 3, which I later upgraded to Froyo.

When I got an Android powered mobile, everyone was “Dude, why did you leave an opportunity of getting an iPhone, if you were getting?” And here are some reasons why I got an Android device and why I love it:

Reasons I Prefer Android than iPhone:

1. Android has flash support available, where iPhone doesn’t. Though iPhone has HTML 5, but what dude? Even Android has!
2. You can customize the home screen as you want it to look like, but in iPhone you cannot. :/
3. Alternative keyboards can be used in Android, but you can’t find any for iPhone.
4. You can install applications without the Android market in Android, but without App Store, you can’t in iPhone.
5. Android files can be edited and that’s legal, but iPhone’s cannot and it’s illegal
6. You can install apps wirelessly in Android, but can’t in iPhone.
7. You gotta unlock the iPhone before using, but in Android you don’t need to.
8. Android mobiles are hellot cheaper than iPhones, and also with same features and applications.
9. You can change/remove an Android powered device’s battery, but can’t iPhone’s.
10. Home screen can be settled up with lots of Widgets available, but not iPhone’s.
11. You can even control an Android from your Computer, but iPhone you cannot.
12. Google love will be only found in Android, though most of the Google Apps are available for iPhone, but Apps of the same manufacture, whose operating system is won’t make a perfect combination?
13. iPhone has many bugs as compared to Android. Though these days even Android viruses are out.
14. Upgrading an Android is too easy as compared to iPhone OS upgrading.

After a long, here’s an Android post on Extreme Trix, folks. Hope, all reading it got an Android powered phone for sure. Android is something that other operating systems can never be and that’s why all like it, it has around 1 Million applications in the Android Market and today using one the Apps of the Android Market only, I am going to tell you, how can you use your 3G connection (and even normal GPRS too) on the Computer too and use its fastness.

How-to –

Go to the Android Market App on your mobile, search for ‘easy tether’. You would see two versions of the App. The first one is EasyTether and second is EasyTether Lite. See, if you want to make your phone a wi-fi modem, then you would have to go for the first app, which is a paid one and if you’re ok with normal USB modem, then Lite version is quite ok and it’s free too.

Once downloaded and installed, run it and you would get the EasyTether Setup Wizard. Choose the Operating System you have and click on the ‘Next’ button.

Once done, it would ask to install drivers on your computer. Head over to this page and choose your Operating system and install them.

Once successfully installed, enable the USB debug mode in your mobile and remove the USB mode from the Mass Storage Settings. Samsung Mobile users would have to download another driver, which could be downloaded from here.

Once installed, connect your Mobile to computer via USB and you would see an icon saying ‘Connection Established’

Well, some body has said right that countries like China and India may not be good at innovations, but they are sure at copying things. iPhone 4 fans may be aware of the Chinese fake model of iPhone, which was out in the market before the official launch of iPhone 4 by Apple. Somehow I’ve got my hands on the Chinese fake model and here I am sharing all about it.

First Look:
The first look of the phone was quite impressive and gave me a feel of the iPhone, but when I took it in my hand, all feel was gone. It had a resistive touchscreen, which looked completely useless to me after using Samsung Star, Samsung Wave and Galaxy 3 for almost 4 months. Also, the griping of phone and icons it had weren’t up to the mark for me. Especially, after using Android and Bada powered phones it seemed bit awkward to use.

The Body:

The body of the phone was made of local and cheap plastic, mostly the one, which is used in making toys *seriously*. It didn’t have a USB cable connection port, which is available in the original iPhone. It has a MicroSD slot though. You can insert the card and play your media *though the playing quality of the songs, videos and pictures too wasn’t as good if you compare the compare with iPhone 4*.

I removed the back cover. The battery was a lion battery, designed in the USA.

The Operating System:

I’d really appreciate the hard work of the Chinese engineers who were able make a ditto copy of the iOS, though as I said the quality wasn’t good, may be because the original iPhone has HD screen. What I loved about this iPhone was, it had a Bluetooth and MMS available

• Chat features, to send messages as in IM form.

• and many other weird features…

Conclusion:

The phone is quite cool and worth buying *if you can’t afford the original Apple iPhone or would like to fool around your friends that your iPhone got a Bluetooth*. Hehehe. I’d give it 1.5 stars to the phone out of 5.

Mobile number portability facility is now available across all Indian states and telecom operators from 20th January 2011. The Mobile Number Portability; MNP will allow mobile subscribers to change their service providers, within a telecom circle, while retaining their old numbers.

The telecommunication market has grown stronger and tougher these days. The telecome will be looking to improve the quality and range of the services in order to retain their existing subscribers and also to attract subscribers from other operators. Those who fail to do so, for any reason, will find it tougher to survive.

How to switch to another operator?

1. You have to send an SMS – PORT <10 digit number> to 1900 [Tollfree] ex: PORT 8057410440.
2. After sending ,you will receive an SMS with unique porting code or UPC from your current operator.
3. After receiving the porting code,you can buy any GSM SIM of your choice and fill the unique porting code in your application form
4. You will be transferred to your preferred operator in a maximum of four days. This transferring of operator would be taken place in a maximum of 1 week.

How much will it Charges for porting?

The charge for porting your number to another operator is Rs. 19/-, payable to the new service provider. It can be used by both new customers of any operator as well as old customers.

There is one thing which need to be kept in mind while exchanging the operator, post-paid subscribers need to ensure their billing dues are cleared before applying for number porting. Failing this, the request to the new porter will be rejected.
