Unfortunately in India and Australia we are stuck with extremely high cost internet, and still relatively slow speeds. In many countries around the world, internet usage is not charged on the amount of data, and you pay a set fee for the whole month. Australia’s internet providers have chosen to charge us for the amount of data we use, which is basically ridiculous, and is extremely expensive. At around $0.05 a megabyte, it can cost a fortune to even download one DVD movie. This is the way it is, and again, there is nothing we can do about it. But how do we know if we are being charged the right amount? Before you go calling for computer support, or the Consumer Affairs Commission, because of your ridiculously high internet usage, take the following measures. Ways at monitoring and avoiding overcharging, and avoid using too much internet bandwidth in your home.

• Know What You Are Using.

  The reality is you can be overcharged at any time. I have had this case several times and it has turned into a lengthy battle with an internet provider. How can you really know what you are using if you only trust your internet provider’s usage meter? The fact is you cannot. What you can do is install a program that monitors your exact use. A good example of this is Net Limiter. There are a variety of programs available that can monitor exactly how much your computer is uploading and downloading. This may be a good option if you have children who are constantly playing games online. They will not like the slower speed and will have to learn how to manage their usage and not exceed the limit for the month.

• Automatic Updates.

  Turning off your Automatic Updates is suggested, or at least setting them for when your internet plan is on the off-peak times. Updates that are happening in the background can burn up your internet usage without you knowing. I chose to turn the updates off, and do them manually when I know it is a good time (off-peak), and I know that I wont be using my computer to get work done. Your computer will also slow down during this process.

• Virus & Malware.

  Malware that downloads into your computer may be using your internet connection again without you knowing. A good internet usage program will pick this up. You can go one step better with good protection and removal. You don’t want the malware in your computer anyway, so make sure you keep your virus and malware definitions up-to-date, and keep your computer clean. This will also lessen your need for computer repairs.

Finding that you have gone way over your internet usage and used up another $200 of charges can kill your monthly budget. This is why you should take the measures outlined here. If you are overcharged, you will also have some evidence to back it up.

Well, I know it’s being a long time since the Android 3.0 is  and 2.3 even released for the tablets and smartphones in market (respectively), but still most the Android users haven’t got the taste of Android 2.2 (Froyo). As most of the companies are shipping mobiles with Eclair and not even releasing the updates users aren’t able to try it and one of the such company is Samsung. Remember Samsung promised us that they are coming for an Android update for Galaxy 3 this March, as they did for Galaxy s, but didn’t come? I remembered.

And today I was determined myself that somehow I would update my Galaxy 3 to the Froyo version and I did. Special thanks to the iGyaan Tutorial, which helped me out, and today I am gonna share the same with you.

• First of all check you Android Firmare. Call ‘*#1234#’ and note it down (if you would have to restore it).

• Select the tar in ODIN DOWNLOADER.

Finally the much waited Internet Explorer 9 is available to download on the official Microsoft website. The new version is quite cool and stable as I felt. Whatever, the reason may be, I am posting a small tutorial to install IE on different versions of Windows.

Before getting the Internet Explorer installed, let me tell you that IE9 isn’t available for Windows XP users and make sure you have the original Windows version. If, you don’t have not to worry you can easily Make Windows Genuine in Just a Click.

Steps to install:

Head over to the official Microsoft Windows Internet Explorer Page and click on the blue colored ‘Download now’ button.

This Scam claims to reveal your total Facebook Profile looks like the Orkut which displays recent users which saw your profile. The application will use your Facebook Wall to post spam messages onto user’s profile. This is totally SCAM. There is nothing like this which can actually tell how many times your profile has been viewed.

How this SPAM works:

You will see that your friend’s status update saying that he got to know how many people viewed his profile with the number. It will be like this:

If you click on the link give, you will be directed to a Facebook Application where it will ask you to Allow the permissions to access your information. As soon as you click “Allow”, the application will automatically post these kinds of Status Updates on your wall which afterwards will infect your friends’ account. This way the SCAM spreads itself.

After the application post the Status Update, it will redirect you to a web page which claims that it can calculate the number of people who viewed your profile.

What you can do if you are victim of this Scam?

If you are infected with this Scam, firstly remove all the Status Updates which the application have automatically added. Then you have to remove the application to stop it accessing your Facebook profile. For this follow these steps:

• Go to Account > Privacy Settings
• You will see an option saying “Apps and Websites“. Below it there will be a link saying “Edit your settings” Click that link
• New page will be opened, there you can see the Privacy options of Apps, Games and Websites which are connected with your Facebook Account.
• The first option will be “Apps you use“. There will be a button saying “Edit Settings”. Click on it.
• After you click it, you will see a list showing all the application to which your Facebook Account is connected.
• Search the application saying “funnysweb“. Remove it from your Facebook Account.
