Undoubtedly Galaxy series, launched by Samsung is one of the best and cheapest brand of Android powered mobiles and tablets available in the market. Samsung gives a lot more features than the normal Android mobile gets, not only this their cheap phones too are always upgradeable to the latest version. Some of the masterpiece include the Tab, Samsung Galaxy 3 and Galaxy S series.

Well we never had that bite of android Froyo (v2.2) with us for a very long time, nor the launch of Nexus S with its delicious Gingerbread (v2.3). But recently Google Inc. Announced its latest offering of Android v3.0 aka Honeycomb at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES), Las Vegas. The OS is said to be scheduled for release in March this year.

The  Announcement was made with Showcase of two tablets - The Motorola Xoom (were hoping it to be with Verizon) and The LG G-Slate (for T-Mobile). Both the tablets are powered by Nvidia Tegra 2, dual Core Processor based on the ARMv8 Architecture, and more than half a gig RAM on both! This I think is going to be the platform of the future for upcoming tabets as we remember the day when Google Nexus One set technological standards for mobile phones.

According to Google, the the latest build of Android OS for mobile platforms will include devices with larger displays (>3.5inch) and major tablets. Since we saw the coming of the tablet age with Apple’s iPad, and then successfully the Samsung Galxy Tab, Honeycomb here is set to dominate the market in hands of Google.

The Major features included in the New OS are briefly:

1. New Holographic User Experience, with total upliftment from standard android user interface.
2. New Notifications and refined multitasking.
3. Access to more than 1,00,000 the Apps in the Android Market.
4. Lots of widgets, better desgined blending with the new 3D interface.
5. Newer web browser with Tabbed Browsing, Incongnito Mode and easy Google Chrome sync
6. Honeycomb also features the latest Google Mobile innovations including Google Maps 5 with 3D interactions and offline reliability.
7. Access to over 3 million Google eBooks, and Google Talk, which now allows you to video and voice chatwith any other Google Talk enabled device (PC, tablet, etc).

There is good news for Google India users. Now Indian users can listen to full-length music free of cost at Google’s Google Music. And the best thing is that it is legal. India has been for the last decade accused of piracy. And with the release of Google Indic music we can listen to almost every Bollywood/Hindi song as Google has launched this service in association with – in.com, Saavn.com and as well as with India’s largest record label, Saregama.

For last year or so there had been rumors that Google was launching a music service for a minimal cost, but Google created this service on the footsteps of YouTube.com. Google launched a similar service in the US last year with MySpace and La La Media Inc.’s Lala.com, but this almost failed.

According to a study conducted by US India Business Council (USIBC) in 2008, 64% of the market is estimated to be pirated. And the estimated loss by Indian music companies is to be $325 million. So with Google Indic music the estimated piracy will drop by 30% by the end year because internet piracy costs $58 million.

Similar service was also launched by Guruji.com in 2008 which was a huge success and it was voted No.1 for Music search by Indian users. Juxt Consult, a renowned online research firm in India, did an independent third party research where unbiased users were asked to search for music on Google.com, In.com, Songs.pk and Guruji.com Music Search and compare their experiences. Yes. Don’t get a shock if I say Google, which today stands as the World’s most attractive employer and also rank one among the engineering companies was once hired by Yahoo (which was once its competitor too) to be its default search engine. Well, even I didn’t know about this and shocked too while I come to know. I was just going through Google History, actually timeline, I got an eye on ‘Yahoo! signs up for Google search’. I thought it would be a normal page about a small deal or something, but no it wasn’t! It was not a small deal. It created a lot buzz among the geeks that time, but I don’t think anyone does remember about it today. Do you? Not nah? That’s why I thought why not to share it among others.

On 26 June, 2000 Yahoo! and Google announced that they have entered into an agreement that will make Google, which was one of the fastest growing Web company that time their default search engine from the next 30 days of the agreement. In my opinion, this agreement was what all made the Google Web what it is today. Yahoo! being ruler of that time integrated Google to their online products and made it famous among its users too, which also become a reason for others to choose Google as their favorite and look Yahoo! Search Technologies down upon.

Seems something is seriously going wrong in Web these days. Since Twitter guys revealed the new version of Twitter out, it got attacked by cross site scripting. Due to some reasons we were not able to cover the news, but our friend Shivendu covered it on his blog, you can check it out – here. The error was something like that – whenever a user mouse hovered a link, it displayed a pop-up window, which would redirect to spam, porn sites. Though Twitter experts solved the problem within a half hour, but it created a bizarre buzz, not just among it’s users, but always among some News Channels.

Today, same repeated again, but this time on – Orkut. Just like Twitter, Orkut also introduced its new version just a week ago and today it got hit by an attack so-called, “Bom Sabado” which means “Good Saturday” in Portuguese. Well, there is no official news from Google’s side yet, but some popular Indian News channels like IBN Live covered it.

If rumors are to believed it spammed many profiles and added new affected user to Google groups too and the worst thing is it is still live.

Well, no body knows the reason behind this may be the hackers are now targeting the social hubs and sites, which are releasing or testing a new version. I would say, they are best out find the loop holes.

Google’s operating system, Chrome Os is already out for developers. According to the reviews I read it looks pretty good and would definitely give a tough competition to Microsoft’s Windows and Apple’s operating system OS X.

I was reading about the operating systems only and came through a really funny image of ‘Windows talking to OS X about the Chrome’ and found it worth sharing with all, after all I didn’t share any funny thing nor any list of wallpapers here too.

Google, an internet giant, which is nearly in every field related to Web, has finally taken control of AdMob; AdMob is a mobile advertising platform. The acquisition deals was announced by Google six months before only, but it was delayed because of Federal Trade Commission (FTC). But now FTC has approved the deal so there is no hurdle in Google’s path to utilise AdMob.

Google can easily utilize it against Apple to gain more popularity and market share as iPhone also released iAds, which is a direct competitor to Google and AdMob. Seems Google is all ready to beat them as it is planning to quickly appoint a new integration team and integrate AdMob technology to their advertising services like Adsense, AdWords to gain an upper edge in mobile advertising.

Just as Google dominates Web advertising through AdSense and AdWords it has similar plans to dominate mobile advertising in coming two-three years, it will be clear who will be the leader in mobile advertising Google or Apple?

From a long time Orkut was not in news. The last time when I saw an update from Orkut was when they released their new version. The reason behind not doing any new update could that most of the users migrated to Facebook because of its cool features (of course which Orkut does not have and what they have is all copied too). Today while reading a scrap I came across an update from Orkut (at last!).

As you can see in the image that now Orkut has started displaying online status on images only. Well, honestly this is the first update I have seen that Orkut has not copied from Facebook or Twitter. My opinion it’s a great update and will help its users to identify easily that who’s online, busy, or idle.

Once again Google has brought a new feature for its users. Google Reader is the kind of tool most people don’t really notice, but use all day. There’s all kinds of talks for moving away from RSS feeds, about Twitter being the place to be and all that, but fact is feeds work and they’re only getting better. And Google Reader is getting better with them. In the latest update, the popular feed reader got some pretty interesting, though understated, new features.

We’ve added support for the HTML5 and tags, so that when you come across an awesome video you can share it in such a way that your mobile device-using friends can see it too,” Mihai Parparita, Google Reader developer, wrote.

Google Reader has released a slew of new updates today, the most prominent being support for HTML5-powered videos and audio. As HTML5 gains steam, partially due to Apple’s war against Adobe Flash, more and more websites are switching to HTML5 interfaces that work on both the desktop and mobile phones. Google, understanding this reality, has intelligently responded by adding HTML5 support for the video and audio HTML5 tags within Google Reader. Google Reader uses an automated system to recommend things that people shared and which you may like, but if the recommendations failed, there was no way of letting Reader know that. With the new link you can easily dismiss the recommended item and also help the algorithm know you better so it won’t send you similar stuff in the future.

Google Reader tends to release these types of small updates often, so it has also added a prompt to refresh whenever Google Reader is updated. The HTML5 additions are the big updates of this release though, and while Google is currently supporting Adobe Flash in the face of Apple’s assault, the reality is that HTML5 is rising as the primary alternative to Flash. Expect to see more and more websites adopt the standard
