It’s been a long time from I am updating my sites with latest and qualified news, tips and much more, but today I am sorry to say that I wouldn’t be able to continue this, for a month; as my exams are going to start. This would be fourth time I am going on a break. I thought my readers won’t get any update if I would take a break again and may get pissed off from me that’s why I was even planning to sell the blogs as the buyer would continue updating sites, but thanks to Chetan bro and Akshay bro who made me realized that selling blogs  wouldn’t be good for me.

Rather than selling my blogs to keep you all always being updated,  I had converted my blogs into blogs cum Social Networks via BuddyPress (which is currently in testing mode (beta ) so that the guest bloggers can join Extreme Trix or Passionate Bloggers and could contribute in writing by being paid per post and moreover, they can easily interact with other members of my blogs and discuss whatever they like to. May was pretty cool month for us. This month we did a lot of work especially I want to appreciate the hard work of Ankit who made such a nice skin for the theme (now version five is final!), Ankit not only worked on the theme, but yeah we also welcomed a full-time editor – Akshay. Hello folks! I am pleased to introduce myself – Akshay, the co-editor of Extreme Trix. I am very happy to be a part of this extra-ordinary blog and would help as much as I can to make it number number one blog in the world. I am a kind of fun loving person, who spend around 12 hours on Internet checking out various stuff and other things. Ya I am a gaming freak and love to play all kinds of games, I am really passionate about hacking and web development, I have made sites for some big companies such as E-phoenix, Dk Gray Hosting and currently holding three more projects with Extreme Trix too. I am also interested in graphic designing and have knowledge in this field too.

In all the above mention qualities i think hacking is the one field in which I am more comfortable and experienced.

If you are one of the loyal visitors of our site, then may have observed that the site has got tweaked! Ankit made the first skin in Web of the TechieSoul theme and is using on Extreme Trix (with the launch of Extreme Trix v5). And I must say after those changes the blog have become much more enhanced and looks much much better, now you all can easily read recent post because this feature has been added, also separate column for tutorials have been added so that you can find required tutorials much easily. I won’t tell about more features because I want you to explore them yourself so, just start exploring the site with new look and enhanced features and enjoy!

Loyal readers of Extreme Trix may have noticed some big-big updates in the site. Actually from a long before I was planning to make it look more good and reliable, then while stumbling my site only I came through a comment post by Harsh bro to change the theme as it was not looking good, which was posted around July, but I didn’t see it yet. I asked some of my friends too they also suggested me to change the theme. I was afraid to change the cause theme cause I didn’t have Adsense and whenever I applied for it they rejected me saying the domain is not yours or the site is under construction. That was the main reason to not to change the theme. Last night I re-submitted my Adsense application and finally got an approved account this morning . So changed my theme tonight and I have also taken some more steps rather changing the theme, which would help me a lot in my blogging career (as I think).

Steps

• PPP Progarm: Yes! now rather than allowing guest authors to show their advertisements below or above the posts on my site, they would be paid per post via Paypal. We are giving 2$ per post to the author. For more info and guidelines checkout this page.
• Ad Prices reduced: This month I got two sponsors who really paid  well for just text links so, to get more sponsors I have reduced the advertisement prices. I would soon publish a detailed page on it.
• Logo: The logo is same, but I have added a reflection below it, which makes it look more professional.
• Niche: This month I have not posted even a single post about or of blogging and SEO. Now I am trying my level best to be on the niche. I will be publishing all Tech and Tricks related stuff here, all Blogging and SEO related posts are on Passionate Bloggers and all hacks are on Hacker’s lane.
• Forum: Sorry to let you know, but we are closing our forum for sometime due to some reason .
• Network: As I told before we are working on Budding Blogger with Satish bro to improve it and make it India’s first network of blogs giving free domain and ad-free hosting. We are currently making the plan ready and then we would be releasing some Blogging and computer related applications (one of them I am going to release tomorrow only – (have released it and gave a tutorial too of making it)).

Yup! You read it right after a long break of three months I’m back again to it. In these three months I have learned a lot of new things about blogging especially branding and SEO. I have reverted back Extreme Trix’s theme to iNove from Swift. I reverted it back to iNove because swift was a bit unprofessional and making changes on it was difficult. From now onwards I will try to cut down blogging related posts on Extreme Trix and will focus on Tech and Tricks as it is based on “Tricks”. I will write blogging related posts, but not on ET on Passionate Bloggers, which is my new blog after Limit Trix. I realized that I’m not following basic and main rule of blogging that is “Post articles based on your site’s niche” and I was continuously posting posts under Blogging Category and cut down posts on tricks.

Changes -

• Created official Twitter accounts for all sites in my network. (Learned branding ).
• Created a personal blog on Blogspot, which I will use a my personal diary so I will not post any more post about me on ET to keep my friends updated about me.
• Added an author image plug-in, which will allow users to upload their own images on ET (just like a social network) and will get displayed in sidebar of their profile and posts (if posted any).
• New logo of ET, PB and my personal blog.
• New revenue sharing system coming soon (good for guest authors!).
• Our first WordPress theme and plug-in coming soon!

You may remember that Extreme Trix was deleted on 16th of November and it took me almost complete two days to make it live again without any problem, it was entirely my fault for not keeping a backup, but from now onwards I have started using WP-DB-Backup plug-in which helps me in getting daily backup easily. When Extreme Trix was deleted the biggest challenge to me was to solve SEO problems. Actually I had two installations of WordPress in my Database one was of WordPress 2.7.1 and second one was of WordPress 2.8.1. I wanted to remove WordPress 2.7.1 as ET was powered by 2.8.1 and the blog which was powered by 2.7.1 was just a test blog which was consuming my free space and making ET very slow.

While deleting that first installation of WordPress by mistake second one (blog directory) also got deleted where Extreme Trix was installed. I lost my everything images, videos, docs and even some articles too. Thanks to Farhan and Prateek bro who helped me in finding back images and permalinks of the posts and pages from Google Cache. At last after continuous hard work of five hours my images and permalinks were restored.

The second challenge for me was to redirect some pages and my forum (my forum was also deleted so I installed a new one) be directory to the new one. I searched on Google about how to redirect PHP based pages and finally got a solution. First my login page was www.extremetrix.com/wp-login.php but now its www.extremetrix.com/blog/wp-login.php. To redirect old page to new one I simply made a new PHP file and added this piece of code -

then saved it with name wp-login.php in my root directory.

Firstly when I launched Extreme Trix’s forum, it was with permalink forum, but when I re-installed it I changed the permalink to “support” instead of forum. To redirect forum to support what I did is just made a blank directory with name “forum” and made an index.htm file. In that index file I added a piece of HTML code (301 redirection code) which redirects and tells the crawler not to index forum directory. The code was -

Last challenge for me was to find a free SEO optimized theme for New version of Extreme Trix, I didn’t want again use my old theme because everything was new on my blog and moreover it was a bit un-professional. After reading reviews of 5-6 free themes the best theme I found was Swift by Satish bro. That time I was expecting a spike in my traffic so I switched to it as it was light and had very cool features.

Before writing anything, I would like to thank Prateek and Farhan bro for helping me. If you are a regular reader of Extreme Trix, then you may have observed that our site was down from last night, no there was no problem is our server, but yesterday when I was trying to upgrade my WordPress to 2.8.6 manually my blog directory (where ET is installed) got deleted. I was even not having my WordPress back-up still somehow I got my permalinks and images because of Google Cache.

I have made some severe changes in blog and changes are -

• Swift Theme – now I have started using Swift theme on Extreme Trix because it is clean and simple. Well it’s always good to have themes like SWIFT at your disposal so that you can easily switch to it if you are expecting a spike in traffic from social media sites.
• WidgetBucks - Just giving it a try
• 125 Ads – Started using 125 x 125 advertisements in sidebar.
• Added a Logo!

Last night I felt that it is difficult at some times to get help via comments in posts or pages. So keeping that point in mind I planned to launch a dedicated Help Center. Our help center is still in beta stage and is not yet finalized, but our team will soon update it within a week.

This is quick post to let all you (readers) know that, we have just activated  a new plug in- CommentLuv – a cool plug in which will visit the site of the comment author while they type their comment and retrieve a selection of their last blog posts, tweets or digg submissions which they can choose one from to include at the bottom of their comment when they submit.

It may help some of comment authors to get link back from Extreme Trix . As you know dropping comments on others blog is the best way to increase backlink, build traffic and relation.
